Cold Laser Therapy for...
Smoking Cessation
In 2004, an estimated 44.5 million, or 20.9 percent, adults were current smokers. The annual prevalence of smoking has declined 40 percent between 1965 and 1990, but has been unchanged virtually thereafter - American Lung Association.
The American Cancer Society reports that nicotine is “as addictive as heroin or cocaine.”
Cold Laser Therapy is being reported as the newest and easiest way to quit smoking.
Smoking Cessation
Cold Laser Therapy uses meridian and acupuncture points to help smokers quit by addressing three different issues of cessation.
First, we treat points for the addiction to nicotine, to help block the body's need for that drug; second, we treat diet points to help control appetite, avoiding excessive weight gain; and third, we treat stress and relaxation points thereby alleviating withdrawal symptoms normally experienced by those trying to stop smoking on their own. These symptoms include irritability, short temperedness, depression, etc. Clients often report an alteration to the way cigarettes smell and taste.
Within 20 minutes of treatment clients report the nicotine craving is gone and the taste and smell of even second-hand smoke becomes nauseating.
Cold Laser Therapy
Cold Laser Therapy is an FDA approved, medical therapy for use on a limited number of pain related conditions and is not approved for general use. All laser therapy devices used for smoking cessations are considered investigational and must adhere to FDA rules in section 505 & 520 if they are to be used in studies for new indications; like smoking cessation.
